Is It Really Illegal To Drive With Bare Feet
I keep being told that if you are found to be driving with bare feet, you could be fined etc... but nowhere can I find the actual rule anyway. Does anyone know if this is truly illegal - or perhaps used to be? In summer, sandals being what they are, its much safer, in my opinion to kick them off and drive with bare feet.... but then I hate anything on my feet in hot weather!
Can anyone tell me where to find this information?
thanks
That's one of those myths that no one can find the corresponding law to. It's perfectly legal, although some driving schools recommend against it.
Me, I go against the grain and teach people to drive starting with bare feet. It allows them better control over the pedals and decreases the chance of mashing both pedals when they go for the brake. I drive barefoot on long trips over five hours.
Update - it is illegal to ride a horse on the highway while barefoot if you are under 18.

Update: It's illegal to marry your sister, anywhere, no matter the age.
haha its a law???
I guess what ever seems proper.
I can understand someone taking off shoes. If it was a woman with high heels or even me in the winter i hate driving with big boots on.
Hey guys i heard the OPP might get detectors to make sure you have shoes on! Fantino says it will only cost about 50 million dollars to by them. They are gonna give 5 demerit points, toe your car, and 7 day license suspension for not wearing the right footwear behind the wheel. It should save alot of lives!!!

Is that what happens when you drive with your toes?
Haha sorry typed in a hurry.
Im sick of the nanny state.
Hell why dont we make laws making fast food illegal for obese people so they dont endanger their health anymore.

Nah, let's just tax it like cigarettes instead (80% of the sale price), and boost our healthcare instead. Or build better roads. Or fund the military and the police. Or do all 3 in one swoop (there should be enough cash from that tax).

Why not? The gov't taxes everything else that feels good, why not tax such an awesome product as a burger? You'd eat them less and feel better each time you do it!
